St Ouen is a fab beach but sometimes better to view from inside a great restaurant than actually being on the beach due to the wind! The atmosphere, food staff etc are all faultless. This really is a great place to visit and we are not sure what you could not like there at all. Breakfast was good, lunch was good. Big food so don't go too mad with the ordering. The recommendation of the Albarino wine was spot on too.
El Tico is very contemporary and a relaxed place to have dinner with the most perfect vista. The food was great and excellent value for money. We had lobster and steak, wine and a lemon curd desert yummmm, and the staff were very friendly.
Overall, this is a fantastic place to eat and a highlight of our short stay in Jersey.
El Tico captures all that is magical about this area. The bench style seating means that everyone can see the majestic view of the beach. It is busy. It is fun and the menu has something for everyone.
And everyone is welcome. We came off the beach one day. Another day from surfing and another day from a hike. The rest of the clientele was the same. This is casual dinning of high standards. The choice on the menu covers all taste buds - from spicy to amazing burgers. And the cupcakes are a work of art in themselves, the size actually daunting!
While El Tico is exceptionally busy, we have never felt rushed. We have never been told we can have a space for a set time or been presented with the bill before asking.
This is a restaurant well worth a visit (or in our case, many visits!). They haven't seen the last of us!
"We cycled across the island for lunch one sunny day and had a fabulous experience. The service was the best I've experienced in a while. Very friendly and helpful. Nothing too much trouble. We sat outside and ate seafood with a bottle of something bubbly, it was just like being on holiday! Highly recommended for good food, relaxed atmosphere and good service."
Just like Big Verns diner El Tico overlooks St Ouen bay with lovely views and fantastic food.Masses of outdoor seating to view those Jersey lovely West Coast Sunsets.Huge menu served with class and panesh [have i spelt that correctly] and yet classless. The Jersey locals flock there. So should you.
"We stayed at a hotel with a Michelin star restaurant but the food at El Tico's was far far tastier!!! Furthermore, the view over the Atlantic rollers and the entertainment from the surfers was special. The service was excellent from the friendly crew of staff and we always had a warm welcome (we went three nights in a row). Nothing was too much trouble. I would recommend the Pad Thai if you want something different!! Beautiful infusion of flavours! Then the crumble :-) If I go back to Jersey, this place will have to be my first stop!!! Love it."
